                - First tell us about yourself. Ok... I'm a southerner who married a Scouser. I'm a mum and this is definitely the most challenging thing I've done. I've been teaching for a looong time but had a five year break when I still worked in education but wasn't a class teacher. I love my job and spend a lot of my time researching education.                 - 1. Why teaching? What would you be if you weren’t a teacher? I just always wanted to be a teacher growing up. I was also really into Crown Court as a young child and for a while my dad thought I might be a barrister. My husband reckons I'd make a good politician because I can answer a question without really answering it! There was a time when I considered leaving teaching. It was a very unhappy time in my life and I was working in a toxic environment. I quite fanc...

-           First tell us about yourself. (Keep it clean) I am 34 (for 12 more days) going on 14... A father of two (4 &7) and I've been married for 10 years in September. I've been teaching for 8 years. I've taught in the same school for my whole a career but have worked in 3 groups in   this time 5, 3 and 1... I'm currently reading for pleasure lead!   I live in North Essex, raised in Northamptonshire, lived for9 years on London How's that? -           Comprehensive. -           1. Why teaching? What would you be if you weren’t a teacher? I'll answer the second bit first. My degree is in drama and technical theatre. I worked in theatre for 4 years before retraining. I'd probably be still working backstage. I'd just got into designing and operating projection for shows - my last gig was a massive fundraiser at...

-           First tell us about yourself. (Keep it clean) A teacher(ish) with the face of a 12 year old but the bones of a 70 year old. (How I've not been caught by the police is a miracle). Living in sunny Chesterfield (Chez-Vegas to the locals) and working in Mansfield, I divide my time between school, annoying people on twitter and pretending I'm immersing myself in gaming. Actually, just immersing myself in gaming. There's certainly no pretending about a 12 hour shift on Fm20 -           That’s more real than real life . -           1. Why teaching? What would you be if you weren’t a teacher? Because when I was growing up there was no such thing as 'professional gamer' that I could aspire to. I always flitted between 2 different aspirations: lawyer and teacher. Lawyer because my dad always banged on about how much money they ma...

-           First tell us a bit about yourself. I'm in my third year of teaching and am based in historic Canterbury. I'm a proud Essex boy, growing up on the Costa del Southend. I share a house with my beautiful wife (@Mrs_B_Reading) and a cocker spaniel pup who is a gorgeous pain in the bottom. -           1. Why teaching? What would you be if you weren’t a teacher? Teaching really just happened to me. I worked part-time in a school during a church 'gap year', then applied to be a TA following that. While doing that I caught the teaching bug! If I could do anything else it would probably be appearing on the TV show Horrible Histories. -           No makeup needed? -           2. What advice would you give for newcomers to twitter? I would advise them to 'join the conversation' and not t...

A bbc Interview with Anoara Mughal

Welcome to today´s bbc Interview. Let me introduce Anoara Mughal, Assistant Headteacher and Year 6 Teacher at Willow Brook Primary School, London, integral member of the Healthy Teacher Toolkit wellbeing organisation and #TMPicnic organiser. Tell us a little about yourself.  I enjoy taking on new challenges and being competitive as it keeps my mind stimulated and refreshed. I had been Team leader in year 6 for three years and got bored after 98% achieved two levels of profress. Having a passion for language and leadership development, I took on whole school leadership challenge and became Literacy Lead and a year 5 teacher. During this time I got bored again and organised my own CPD mostly through Twitter, which has led me to become an Assistant Headteacher. What made you become a teacher? After obtaining a degree in Biological Sciences, I went into retail sales, got bored then became a Bed Manager. It was a very interesting job which mainly involved telling consulta...
